The cast of a new production of a much-loved risque comedy may have just what you’re after.

Members of Maltby Musical Theatre Group are staging Calendar Girls at the Civic in March — and  starring in their own charity calendar, which is now on sale.

The theatre company (pictured above in a Christmas scene shot by photographer Josh Matkin) are putting on their own production of the classic comedy film and contributing some of the proceeds from their fundraising ahead of curtain-up to boost Blood Cancer UK, which was backed by the original calendar girls from Rylston WI.

MMG members were selling their calendars at a Christmas market at the Wesley Centre in Maltby — and you can still get hold of a copy from the Wesley Centre and the group’s Facebook page.

Rehearsals are now under way for the musical, which was written by Tim Firth and Gary Barlow and tickets are on offer at  www.rotherhamtheatres.co.uk or on 01709 823621.
