Popular pub undergoes 'true transformation' with a local touch

A POPULAR pub is currently undergoing a “true transformation” — and will re-open next month after a refurbishment with a local flavour.

The Mossbrook Inn in Sheffield is involved in a “significant makeover that will give the much-loved eating and drinking spot a modernised, stylish and contemporary feel” ahead of its re-opening on Saturday, September 3.

The pub, on Sheffield Road in Eckington, will serve a newly designed menu featuring fresh flavours inspired by the seasons and modern world-food trends.

Head chef Marcin Pomaranski recently joined the pub but has worked within the company and at other major restaurants for 15 years, and joins an experienced team, many of whom have worked at the Mossbrook for more than 30 years. New apprentices have also joined during the re-launch and are looking to start their hospitality careers.

The pub’s makeover is taking inspiration from its name and the brook that runs directly alongside it —which was used to help power nearby factories during the industrial revolution — with a nod to the local history of the area in the new industrial style décor and colour scheme.

General manager Mat Hemsley said: “My team and I are so excited to see the new look Mossbrook Inn — we know we're in for a big change.

“The pub is currently undergoing a true transformation, and we cannot wait to show off the new look and the wonderful team we have here at The Mossbrook Inn to new guests and regular customers alike!”
