Winger joins Millers

WINGER Lionel Ainsworth has become Rotherham United's eighth signing of the summer.

The 24-year-old played almost 30 games for Shrewsbury Town in their promotion from League Two last season before joining Burton Albion on a one-month loan at the end of the campaign.

Millers chief Steve Evans said: "I'm glad we've signed Lionel as he's an exciting winger with frightening pace.

"He's a match-winner and someone I look forward to working with. We've added something we didn't have, which is a winger with sheer pace, and any defender will tell you they don't want to play against someone like that."

Ainsworth will sign subject to a medical.
