We deserved more, says Ronnie

MILLERS boss Ronnie Moore bemoaned his side's bad luck as they suffered a first league defeat of the season at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

Lionel Ainsworth's early strike separated the teams but Rotherham battered the home side without reward in the second half, with goalkeeper Chris Neal pulling off a string of fantastic saves.

Moore said: "I can't fault the players. They gave everything.

"We paid for five minutes of madness at the start. We conceded a sloppy but but after that Andy Warrington didn't have too much to do.

"In the second half we bulldozed them. It was like the Alamo. The keeper has made six or seven world-class saves. We deserved at least a point and if we had got one goal there was no reason we couldn't have gone on and got four or five.

"If we play like that week in week out we will not be far away."

The Millers host Burton Albion on Saturday.

The two teams have also been drawn against each other in the second round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

The match is at the Pirelli Stadium week commencing October 4.
