The victory ended a run of three successive league draws for Rotherham and Moore said: "We should have been out of sight with the amount of chances we had.

"Overall I don't think anyone could complain. We had the most chances and if hadn't been for their keeper it could have been five or six."

The home side were reduced to ten men inside the first 20 minutes when defender Kevin Long was red-carded for bringing down Adam Le Fondre when the top scorer was clean through.

Le Fondre converted the resulting spot-kick to cancel out Andrew Parkinson's ninth minute opener for the home side.

Jimmy Ryan swept Stanley back into a shock lead early in the second half but Exodus Geohagon headed Rotherham level with his first goal for the club nine minutes from time and substitute Ryan Taylor hit a post before Cresswell grabbed the winner.

The win was enough to keep the Millers in the top three in League Two.

They are at home to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
