Vaulter tipped to hit the heights

THE 2016 Games might have come too early for him, but pole vaulter Adam Hague is being tipped to hit the heights at future Olympics.

Still only 18, the Kimberworth prospect is already riding high in the UK senior rankings and is the one to beat at U20s level in the UK.

In fact his coach, Trevor Fox, believes Adam is better at this stage than his other major vaulter, Luke Cutts, who will be performing in Rio.

“Is Adam a future Olympian? Absolutely,” says Trevor. “I'm already working with Adam for the Tokyo Games in 2020 and all other major meetings in between for his age group.

“I think Adam is a bit more advanced than Luke was at his age, so all things being equal there are even better chances of him securing a medal at the Olympics.

“Adam is ranked fourth in the seniors in the UK and he's top of the U20s. He has great prospects for two or three, maybe three or four Olympics, starting in Tokyo.”
