Treeton triumph against rivals

CHAMPIONS Treeton won’t give up their Ben Bailey South Yorkshire Senior League crown lightly, underlined by a powerhouse performance against old foes Wickersley.

Saturday’s six-wicket win keeps them hard on the heels of leaders Whitley Hall as the eagerly-awaited derby underlined that the Washfield Lane side have enough strength to mount a challenge.

Wickersley batted first and made 178-9. Treeton had little difficulty in reaching the required total. They had six wickets and 20 overs to spare when they hit the target at 184-4.
