Titans ready to step it up

TITANS head to London Scottish tonight for their second pre-season game and Mark Jones will use the exercise to step up his side's work ahead of the Championship opener next month.

After Saturday's 45-14 win at Fylde, Titans face Scottish at Richmond tonight before concluding the warm-up matches at Loughborough Students in ten days' time.

Said Jones: "We’ve made quite a number of changes for this game as we want to have a look at as many of the boys as possible.

"For the Fylde game we played a lot of the new signings and younger guys and for this one we wanted to go in there with a little bit more experience with the old boys and some of the more experienced new boys.

“At this point in time we are still putting the building blocks in place and I will be focusing more on our performance rather than the result.

"Having said that, from a psychological point of view it’s an excellent opportunity to play against good opposition to try out our systems and experience some good contact work under pressure. If we get a win it’s a confidence boost, but the most important thing at this stage is to see some improvement in our development.”
