Titans get ready for play-offs

ANOTHER disappointing display by Rotherham Titans, but at least Friday's 9=5 defeat at Moseley was enough to carry them into the promotion play-offs.

But coach Andre Bester knows that his side will certainly have to up their game when the top eight shootout begins in a fortnight's time.

They only had a Simeon James try - out of the blue - to show for their efforts at the Birmingham club, who had edged into a 9-0 lead courtesry of three penalties.

"It wasn't our best but at least we know that the bonus point was enough to make us quality and we can now concentrate on sharpening our game when Bristol come here on Saturday," said Bester.

Plymouth's defeat at Bristol yesterday means the Brickfields club will join Moseley, Esher and Birmingham in the bottom four.

In the meantime, Rotherham travel to Doncaster tomorrow in the British and Irish Cup.
