Skipper on the way back

SKIPPER Craig Morgan is poised to return to lead Rotherham United into battle at Walsall this weekend, with new signing Tom Eaves also pressing to be involved.

Morgan came through training without any problems yesterday having been sidelined for a fortnight with an ankle injury and providing there is no reaction, he will play.

Striker Eaves (21), who has joined on an emergency loan from Bolton Wanderers, could also figure, ramping up the team's striking options as they chase a fourth win on the spin.

His arrival is a timely boost as manager Steve Evans grapples with an injury list which  lengthened this week when centre-half Claude Davis was ruled out for up to a month. He pulled a hamstring in Saturday's win over Oldham.

Midfielder Michael O'Connor (groin) is another two weeks away from a return while winger David Worrall is thought to need another week.

On tomorrow's game, Evans said: "We're confident but with that comes a realism," said Evans. "Walsall won well at Crewe and did the same in front of 22,000 at Wolves on Tuesday. It's always hard going to the Bescot Stadium but this will be especially tough."
