Scott sees positives in Millers defeat

ROTHERHAM United manager Andy Scott says there is better to come from his side despite last night's 2-1 friendly defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at Don Valley Stadium.

A crowd of 5,581 saw second-half goals from Lewis Buxton and Gary Madine give the visitors victory, with Adam Le Fondre netting a late consolation goal.

Scott said:" It was a tough test against a strong, powerful team but we stuck to the task and looked strong in the last ten minutes and scored a very good goal.

"I was disappointed with the two set-piece goals we conceded but against a good side you fancy to be up at the top of League One, I think we did alright.

"We made a few too many unforced errors with sloppy passes but it's still early days, we have eight new players, we are changing things and it will take time.

"It was only our second game and we certainly showed we've got potential."

The Millers now jet off to Portugal for warm weather training ahead of their next two warm-up games, away to Stocksbridge Park Steels next Tuesday and Scunthorpe United next Wednesday.
