Schofield promises more

DANNY Schofield has vowed to put an ordinary year behind him and show the supporters his best form.

With vast experience from his time at Huddersfield, Yeovil and Millwall, the 32-year-old schemer was one Andy Scott's key signings last summer when he joined from the Lions.

By his own admission, he has not played to his potential and Rotherham have found it difficult to find a way to get him on the ball enough to influence games.

But a year older and wiser to the fast pace and physicality of League Two football,

Schofield insists he can come back stronger.

He told the Advertiser: "This has been a good move for me but I've not really performed quite as well as I can. I'm not too sure why that is, it's a number of factors.

"Is it because you are given less time on the ball at this level? Possibly. I have played centre-midfield a lot this season and that is a new position for me and I've been adapting to that as well.

"I'll have a think about it during the off season and I'll improve; there is definitely more to come. The gaffer demands hard work but wants to play football as well so hopefully that will suit me and I can play a big part next year."
