Rugby player Connor Dever to return to Australia after stint with Rotherham Titans.

Scrum-half Connor Dever returned to Rotherham for match time after two stints with Aussie teams, before heading to Sydney.

AUSTRALIA is set to come calling again for Connor Dever next month — and he'll make the 10,000-mile trip Down Under grateful for a quickfire return to Rotherham.

The scrum-half returned to the Titans in January for some match time in between two stints with two Aussie teams.

And even though promotion from National Two North is out of the question, it has been a welcome step back in time for a player who first made his Titans debut back in 2018 and played more than 50 times for the club in National One before moving on to widen his horizons.

“I was playing over in Perth but in three weeks I'm going to Sydney to play for a club called Gordon,” he told the Advertiser.

“They are another league up, so in the meantime I'm keeping my match fitness up and there's no better place to do it than here. I've loved coming back to Rotherham.”

After making his second “debut” in January, Dever scored the first try since his return in last week's defeat to Sedgley Park and his beaming smile showed how much it meant to him.

“Technically I'm a local lad, but not really,” added the player who came through Sale's Academy system.

“My nan lives round the corner from Clifton Lane and comes to the home games.”

Dever will be on the team bus to Huddersfield on Saturday as the countdown continues to the day he jets off to sunnier climes.

“I have three more games here. I want three more wins before I go to Sydney,” added Connor.

“Will I be watching Rotherham's results from afar? Of course.

“In fact I've been doing that all year round, looking at the team-sheets. It's quite interesting to see who the club gets in every year and who leaves.

“I'll keep an eye on what's going on.”
