Rotherham race boss back in F1

ROTHERHAM’S John Booth is back in Formula One — as racing director with Scuderia Toro Rosso.

The 61-year-old looked lost to the Grand Prix circuit after parting company with Manor F1 last year, the team he developed five years ago, especially after forming the new sportscar team to take part in the World Endurance Championship.

But the Italian team this week moved to bring in the massively experienced Booth dirctor on a consultancy basis and he’ll take his place in the pits at this weekend’s Russian Grand Prix in Sochi.

"It is a great honour to join such a well-established and competitive team as Toro Rosso" said Booth.

"It is a team that has achieved so much in a relatively short space of time.

“I’m looking forward to getting started and working with team principal Franz Tost and the team this weekend in Sochi."
