Raynor sees positives

ASSISTANT manager Paul Raynor insists there is reason for optimism as the Millers head into autumn.

While frustrated with only a point against the league's bottom side Barnet last week, he reckoned it should have been three and points to the second-half improvement and the return of key men Kari Arnason and David Noble as plus factors.

He said: "I wasn't too impressed by the first half on Saturday but we tweaked things at half time and came out a lot brighter and had the better chances.

"It's not quite going our way at the moment but as I said to the lads, if we can put a 90 minutes together like the second half performance, we'll do alright.

"We're getting there. If we can get David Noble up to match fitness and get Kari Arnason back then it gives us nice selection problems. It will be good to get players of that quality available again."

Raynor again takes charge of the team at home to Oxford United tomorrow in the absence of manager Steve Evans, serving his stadium ban.
