Racer Jake on the up

FAST-rising racer Jake Cook is to step up to the Formula Renault Championship for 2013.

The Rotherham driver has switched from the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship, with the new season seen as a step towards his ultimate dream of reaching Formula One.

Formula Renault BARC is the ideal progression for Jake and his racing career, driving with the Hillspeed Racing team.

He said: “We found out about this deal just last week. After looking over our options for the coming season this was the ideal opportunity and Hillspeed made an offer impossible to refuse.”

Headed by Team Principal Richard Ollerenshaw, Hillspeed Racing have vast experience to support their bid for glory, having won the Formula Renault BARC Championship title in 2010. Now with a two-car assault for 2013, Jake is hoping he can help the team regain championship honours.
