Pringle to the rescue for Millers

SUBSTITUTE Ben Pringle came on to rescue point for Rotherham United at lowly Barnet this afternoon.

Introduced at half time for his first game since October, the midfielder was on the field only four minutes when he slotted home from close range to make it 1-1.

Barnet played the last 25 minutes with ten men after having defender Paul Downing sent off for two yellow cards but the Millers couldn’t find a winner.

They struggled in the first half and slipped behind on six minutes when Mark Byrne’s free-kick from wide on the left went through a crowded goalmouth and beat the dive of Rhys Taylor.

Shaun Harrad and Michael Raynes both went close as Rotherham improved in the second half but a point did little good for their League Two promotion hopes. They are now eight points outside the play-offs frame.
