Penalties not an issue, says Titans chief

COACH Mark Jones says Rotherham won't worry unduly about the hefty penalty county which almost proved their undoing in Saturday's big derby against Doncaster.

Titans racked up over twice times as many penalty hits - 19 - than their average so far this season, played a quarter of the game with 14 men due to two yellow cards and still managed to squeeze home 30-23 after the most dramatic of finishes, Curtis Wilson darting through the cover to score a try from the last play of the game.

Said Jones: "The penalties won't concern us that much because it was the nature of the game and, to be fair, a lot of it was off the back of poor exits from us. It was a tough game.

"They've been flying high and to win it was nice to win my first South Yorkshire derby."

The two sides went toe-to-toe in a tight game, Rotherham having tries from Will Owen and Curtis Wilson before Wilson's sensational burst in the final seconds to make it a seven-point win.

"I was really proud of the boys' efforts. To a man they were strong in what was a hard game," added Jones.
