Millers sunk by Cheltenham

ROTHERHAM United’s promotion push suffered a setback this afternoon when they were beaten 3-0 at Cheltenham.

First-half goals from Jermaine McGlashan and Marlon Pack left Steve Evans’ men with too much to do as they were punished by superior opponents on the day.

McGlashan’s first-time volley from a centre by Kaid Mohamed broke the deadlock just past the half-hour mark and Mohamed also set up the second goal, calmly side-footed inside Andy Warrington’s right-hand post from the edge of the penalty area by Pack five minutes before the break.

Pack also clipped the outside of the woodwork while Lee Fecklington went closest at the other end in the first period with a drive that was tipped over by Scott Brown.

Rotherham put on winger Daniel Kearns in the second half and pushed Daniel Nardiello up front in a switch to a 4-4-2 but their misery was complete when Steve Elliott seized upon a spill by Warrington to complete the scoring seven minutes from time.
