Millers in stalemate

ROTHERHAM United had to settle for a point from a goalless draw against Preston North End at the New York Stadium.

Chances were at a premium between two evenly matched sides who had both enjoyed big cup wins earlier in the week.

Matt Tubbs missed the Millers’ best opening in the first half when he pulled a chance wide of the far post from a good position.

Bailey Wright clobbered the crossbar at the other end from a header early in the second half but defences remained on top.

The result leaves both teams with two draws from their opening two League One games.
