Millers chief still aiming high

RECENT results have not diminished Andy Scott's belief that Rotherham United can win the league.

During pre-season, the Millers chief said top spot was the goal and that he had a squad capable of achieving it.

Despite enduring the poorest run of his managerial career, he is sticking to that view.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow's clash with Shrewsbury Town, he said: "We have the ability to win the league and I still believe that. We're a few points off the top now but the ambition is to still get promoted.

"We've shown we've the quality to go and get results. Every team goes through a bad spell and we seem to be going through one early in the season and it's a bit longer than I'd like. It's probably the worst run of results I've had since I became a manager but I'm not as concerned about this squad as others I've had which haven't been on such a bad run.

"You worry about some in adversity but I don't here. They players are excellent to work with.

"Of course we want to get back to winning ways. The sun shines brighter when you get a good result. Everyone feels better about themselves and there's every chance you can go on a decent run and that's what we've got to do."

Tomorrow's game is followed by a trip to Morecambe on Tuesday.
