Millers boss keeps the belief

ALAN Stubbs says he is fully aware of the size of the task facing him at Rotherham United, insisting: “I fully believe in what I’m doing.”

After two good years with Hibernian, capped by a Scottish Cup victory, he's had a tough introduction to the Championship.

The Millers find themselves in a familiar position near the foot of the table after eight matches as they try to cut out defensive errors which have contributed to four straight away defeats.

But ahead of tomorrow's match at home to Cardiff City, Stubbs told the Advertiser that fortunes so far had to be weighed against the huge overhaul of the playing staff that was required this summer.

“I have been in management for just over two years and in that short space of time I've had a bit of success," he said. "I obviously believe in what I'm doing but it's like anything when you go into a new job.

People have to remember we've had to rebuild here. We have had to virtually build a squad and that does take time. Every job is a big job when you go into it. Whatever is in front of you, you have to hit it head on and tackle it."
