McCall hopes for new deal

CENTRE Dave McCall is one of several players waiting by the telephone as Rotherham Titans begin to build their squad for next season.

Coach Andre Bester has hinted that a raft of players won’t be retained and has already started to recruit newcomers to give him a stronger line-up when we start a whole new ball game in September.

But McCall has impressed since his arrival at Clifton Lane in December and admits he’d jump at another contract with the Titans.

“I’m not sure what’s happening so we’ll just have to wait and see. I’d love to stay here but that’s obviously not been decided.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time here since coming to Rotherham and we’ve a great bunch of guys. Our team spirit has been great this season.”
