Law signs new contract

INFLUENTIAL Garry Law has signed for Rotherham Titans on an extended two-year deal—after rejecting a lucrative offer to move away from the club.

Law has become a strong candidate for player of the year after topping the Championship points-scoring charts.

That has put him on the radar of several clubs and back on track for Scottish international selection. Law, who has represented his country at U18,19,21 and A-team level, is aiming to force his way into the Scottish selectors thinking and had been tempted by offers to move on, including one sizeable deal from another Championship club.

But Law believes that staying at Clifton Lane, after Andre Bester brought him back to Britain from Italian club Viadana, will continue his development.

Said a Lane spokesman: “We’re delighted at the news. At one stage it looked as though we would lose Garry but there have been some long discussions and he has decided to stay."
