Keeper signs new deal

GOALKEEPER Adam Collin has extended his stay at the New York Stadium.

He's signed a one-year contract extension to keep him with Rotherham United until 2016.

Collin made a double penalty save in the Wembley play-off final in May to confirm promotion to the Championship and has been the first choice this season for the most part.

He signed for the Millers from Carlisle United last year, forcing his way into the team in place of Scott Shearer and has held off competition from summer recruit Scott Loach this term.

He said: "It's gone really well since I've joined and now I'm really glad to get another year under my belt and hopefully push on from here. I'm pleased to be playing in the Championship, I believe I've been pretty solid and I'm looking for more of the same.

"I moved in the summer, adapted to the area, and everything is going as well as it could. I came in as a number two to Shears but I passed him and cemented my place in the team. The gaffer brought Scott in during the summer to add to the competition but I've fought hard and been lucky enough to keep my place.

"I've done what I can to keep that shirt now and I just want to show what I can do in this league."
