Harris runs out of gas

KARL Harris continued his return to BSB-Evo Championship racing at Donington Park—but his weekend was again dogged by bad luck.

The Anston racer, riding for his new Splitlath team, was forced to pull out of Race One with bike problems, aiming to make necessary changes ahead of the second outing.

Having not had a chance to get a lap in, he was forced to start from the back of the grid but he got a clean getawayto fly past three other bikes.

By the end of the first lap he had made up nine places and was lying seventh in the Evo class and 20th overall. He dropped to eighth briefly for a handful of laps but was soon back in seventh and was slowly reeling in the pack ahead.

But disaster struck on the final lap. Harris was inching closer to David Anthony and Patric Muff just ahead when he ran out of fuel and was unable to make it to the finish line.
