Get behind us, says Bester

TITANS chief Andre Bester says his side won’t get carried away after their sensational opening-day win at Bristol as they prepare for Sunday’s home clash with old foes Bedford.

And he has called for fans to get behind the new-look team.

Rotherham opened with a stunning 26-24 win at the Memorial Ground, thanks to a late, late penalty from star-in-the-making Juan Pablo Socino.

But Bedford’s blistering 51-3 win against Plymouth Albion underlined the threat the east midalnds side will pose this weekend with Bester saying: “Forget about Bristol because we’ll start as underdogs in this one.”

He added: “It will be a tough match because Bedford are one of the sides bound to feature at the top end of the Championship this season.

“But we will go out there and work our backsides off.

“The players bust their gut at Bristol. In the first ten minutes we were chasing shadows and I think that is because we are a young side and there was a big crowd and they found that a little bit daunting for the first 15 mintues but after we settled down we came brilliantly back in that first half and we thought we had them up to half time."
