Friendly victory for Millers

TWO late goals ensured a winning end to the pre-season friendlies for Rotherham United at Kettering Town last night.

A side which included three trialists won 2-0 at Nene Park under the guidance of assistant boss Paul Raynor.

After surviving a penalty miss from Sean Bonnett-Johnson in the first half, the Millers made the breakthrough on 83 minutes through Alex Revell's powerful header.

The outcome was put beyond doubt three minutes later when Revell turned provider, racing through to outwit a defender and set up substitute Alec Denton to score from just inside the penalty area.

The Millers begin their League Two campaign at home to Burton Albion on Saturday, with only 1,000 tickets left in the home sections.

They are on sale at Mangham House.
