INJURY-HIT Rotherham United could be without up to seven players for Tuesday's night's South Yorkshire derby showdown.

The Championship Millers head to Bramall Lane to face neighbours Sheffield United desperately low on numbers after being hit by more fitness misfortune in yesterday's 2-1 loss to Norwich City.

Striker Georgie Kelly suffered a suspected hamstring tear, centre-forward Conor Washington had to come off with a knee complaint, central defender Grant Hall became a third man to be withdrawn and skipper and centre-half Richard Wood nursed a hamstring issue to finish the contest.

Hall was fatigued and the Millers didn't want that to develop into some kind of strain.

Rotherham were already without wing-backs Shane Ferguson and Tolaji Bola and centre-back Jamie McCart, none of whom are given much chance of making the Blades clash.

"Georgie will be out and I would be surprised if either Conor or Grant will be available judging by the symptoms they came off with," manager Matt Taylor said.

"I would probably put Woody into that category as well.  He did well to get through the 90 minutes, and was excellent again, but he has had a bit of tightness in his hamstring as the game went on."

Ferguson (groin) and McCart (unspecified strain) are undergoing scans while Bola is still bothered by a quad problem and has yet to train fully since Taylor took the hot-seat at the beginning of last month.

The Millers play the Blades and then sign off for the four-week World Cup shutdown with a trip to Luton Town on Saturday.

"Shane will do well to feature before the break," said Taylor. "He's showing too many signs of pain. It's similar with Jamie really."

A boost for Rotherham is that wing-back Peter Kioso (groin and ankle) returned against the Canaries after a ten-week absence and midfielder Jamie Lindsay made his first start since the August draw at Preston North End.

Wing-back Cohen Bramall also comes back into the reckoning having served a one-match ban.

"How Jamie lasted 90 minutes ... credit to him and his professionalism," Taylor said. "I thought he was excellent."
