Brothers to make home debuts

HIGHLY-rated brothers Charlie and Fergus Mulchrone will make their Clifton Lane debuts tomorrow after winning a dual battle against injury.

Scrum-half Charlie and utility back Fergus both played in last week’s British and Irish Cup win at Aberavon and will carry on their good work when Plymouth Albion visit tomorrow.

The duo were both signed from Macclesfield after being persuaded by coach Andre Bester to step up to Championship level — but both have been kept sidelined by unjury, meaning they have missed the first chunk of the season.

Bester now wants to see them stake a strong claim for starts when the league campaign resumes at Newcastle next week.

“Charlie was always going to start for us when he signed by injury niggles have kept him out while Fegus suffered a stress fracture of a foot in March and it’s been a long road back,” said Bester.
