Brookes in emotional return

FIGHTER Stuart Brookes will make an emorional return to the ring tonight, three years after his brother was killed in a road accident.

Stuart put his career on hold after younger brother Scott was killed after the late-night tragedy in Swinton in March, 2008.

But he will begin his comeback trail at Doncaster Dome tonight. The Mexborough middleweight takes on the durable Steve Spence and, says trainer and manager Stefy Bull: “Stuart has been through a lot but now he’s back.”added: "He is really forward to it and has massive support.

“Stuart’s been out of the ring for over three years now and with what he's been through we were just hoping to take things slowly. We’ll see how it goes but he's really surprised me in the gym.

“He's starting to feel his way back into things, I think it will only be a couple more fights and we'll see the old Stuart back"
