Branston seeks FA Cup nod

ROTHERHAM United's Guy Branston is asking parent club Bradford City if he can play in this weekend's FA Cup tie at Barrow.

The centre-half, in on a three-month loan from the Bantams, is desperate to help the Millers through to round two.

Speaking after Saturday's match against Aldershot, he said: "I am going to have a word with the gaffer at Bradford because there are no real grounds for them to stop me (playing).

"I can't play against Bradford in the league the week after. I understand that and that's normal club policy. But by the time I get back to Bradford it will be nearly the fourth round so it's a big ask for them to be in the fourth round and it's a big ask for Rotherham to be in the fourth round. The third round is really our FA Cup final.

"I have a good relationship Phil Parkinson and he is very approachable so I'm going to have a word with him."
