Boxing legends in town

BOXING legends Marco Antonio Barrera and Ricky Hatton are on their way to Rotherham.

The duo are to appear at a one-off fight-fans special at Swinton’s Park View club on Monday, Marsh 5.

The show has been organised by Rotherham’s MW Entertainments and it will be the only time the two former world champions will appear together in Britain.

Mexican ace Barrera has won numerous world titles in three different weight classes. He ranks number 43 on ESPN's 50 list of the greatest boxers of all time.

Hatton, who has previously appeared in Rotherham, hung up his gloves last year after a spectacular career.

Said organiser Mick Mangham: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for boxing fans to see two of the greats—brining Barrera to town is a big coup and Ricky is always great value.”

VIP tickets are now on sale, including a meal. They are priced at £100, while normal tickets are also on sale at £60.
