Andreu backed to come good

FRENCHMAN Tony Andreu is being tipped to add some much-needed punch to the Millers attack by the time his loan spell from Norwich City is up.

The 27-year-old has had a quiet start in the red and white so far while his clubmate, Vadis Ofoe-Odjidja, has caught the eye.

Here until January, Andreu has ample time to make an impression and his ability to operate as an attacking midfielder or the number ten role will stand him in good stead.

He slammed 25 goals in 49 appearances for SPL side Hamilton before earning a move to Norwich in February.

The trouble is that he's played only nine senior competitive matches since. Rotherham have to get him in top shape before they can get the best out of him and manager Steve Evans is confident that he can rediscover his old menace.

He said: “Tony has not had a lot of football since he came down from Hamilton, where he was a fantastic goal scorer.

“But he had a real energy about him against Cardiff and picked up lots of balls and when he gets a little bit sharper and match fitter he will cause havoc in the Championship.”
