Sir-- In last week's Advertiser there was an article in which unwarranted accusation was made that I have misled people about my residential address.

This could not be further from the truth as I have never hid the fact that I have strong connections to Brinsworth and Catclifef as all 3 of my children attend the excellent Brinsworth Academ where I have also been a school governor and know the area very well.

In fact it was friends and colleagues I knew from the school who encouraged me to stand for the area.

As far as the address on my campaign literature is concerned it's the norm for candidates to use the address of the election agent, who in my case is ex-councillor Reg Littleboy.

This is so that all correspondence is sent to the agent for him to be able to respond in his capacity as the agent.

Also in the article it was a quoted that an insider had alluded that he had spotted Brinsworth address from the nomination papers!

That is an outright untruth because the nomination would be invalid without my home address on the forms.

The nomination papers are in the public domain and I invite anyone to please check for themselves and not just take my word for it.
