Time to honour comedy great Eric Sykes
Sixty years ago Eric Sykes wrote the scripts for top radio shows. Many of today's Heroes of Comedy who came to fame in the 50's and 60's did so with Eric Sykes' scripts.
He wrote more Goon Show' scripts - which influenced the comedians, who influenced the comedians, who influenced today's comedians - than did (Sir) Spike Milligan, although he has always refused to take credit for this.

Hide AdHis TV show Sykes was the top rated sitcom for twelve years, only ending with the death of Hattie Jaques.
