Sticky situation with lights

THE council completed its programme of replacing the street lamps with brand new LED lanterns on Braithwell Road, Maltby, which are designed to last for 20 years.

There was no need for a tape cutting ceremony for the switch on, but instead some sticky tape has been cut and wound around most of the columns to hold the lanterns on. I think the council’s budget cuts have left it in a sticky situation when there is no money to replace lighting columns, but at least each light received its own (sticky) tape cutting ceremony!
