Some don’t care how our village looks

I AM Helena and I am 14-years-old and today I am going to tell you about my village, Thurcroft.

There are lots of hairdressers, sandwich shops and grocery stores, a park for children, an infant school and a junior school.

Also, there are two big grassy areas, mostly used for cricket and football, a small church and the Gordon Bennett Memorial Hall, which is mostly used for family parties.

Even though there are a lot of facilities, it is not the best place to live because of some of the people.

Don’t get me wrong, there are many nice people but there are also those who don’t care about it looks.

Many people complain that the roads are bad, including my mum, because she cannot drive on one main road because of the speed humps and low suspension of her car.

There used to be the pub on the corner, but it got demolished over three years ago to be left as nothing, just wasteland.

It makes our village look messy and uncared for and also forgotten about.

We recently just had wind turbines put up nearby, which can be seen miles away because they are so big.
