Praise for bus driver in Stonewall row

I AM writing in support of the bus driver who refused to drive the bus with the advert by Stonewall advertising, so called, gay rights

I don't class myself as homophobic, but I do object to gay people promoting their cause almost to the extent of it being compulsory.

I remember the time in the early 1960s when it was unlawful for homosexuals to importune for the purposes of sex and, as a young police officer at the time, I hated the fact that we had to, in effect, persecute these people for being gay but that was the law.

I was more than happy when the law was changed for consenting males over the age of 21 to practice homosexual acts IN PRIVATE and this was the point, it had to be in private.

Now, it appears in every aspect of life and I, for one, still find it most distasteful to see two men thrusting their tongues down each other's throat, either on TV or in public. Stonewall can argue all they want, but to most of us, and particularly to people with strong Christian beliefs, it is not normal and not acceptable in public.

I believe the bus operators are wrong in displaying this advert on their buses as I believe it offends more people than it supports and well done to the driver for refusing to drive it!
