Markings are dangerous

I have now stopped using the route to go up Fitzwilliam Road. I avoid it! We have seen cars in front of us ignoring the new markings and nearly causing accidents and like the comments last week,  for people who do not know the area, it is confusing. It does not make sense.

The original lane plan has worked very well for a long time, so which bright spark thought this would be better? Surely safety should be paramount. Someone will be killed there one day if it does not change back.
