Give me strength, binman

AFTER reading the letter from Steven Kennedy (September 17), re how he put his bin out for emptying with no problem and the bin man refused to take the bin saying it was too heavy.

He had only five-tem yards to pull the bin to the vehicle. I couldn’t help but think what a shambles bin collection is. Every householder is responsible for taking their bin out to the highway to be emptied. I walk pulling my bin out for 45 yards to the highway. Yet it is possible for a bin man who has got out of the wrong side of his bed to tell me the bin is too heavy and refuses to take the bin to the vehicle a few yards away.

My advice to bin men, is to scrap the method of taking two bins together, they will find that they have more strength to pull one bin out.
