Zoe scoops prestige health care award

Zoe Kidd, lead sonographer at the Care UK-run Rotherham Diagnostic Centre, has been recognised by patients and staff for her dedication to the service which provides ultrasounds, x-rays, echocardiography, MRI and DEXA (bone density) scans to NHS patients.

She has been presented with the Good to Great Award,  part of Care UK's national award scheme for its healthcare centres and professionals across the country.

The award is for always encouraging others to improve the way they work for the benefit of patients

Zoe  leads the professional development of her team and heads the centre's charity commitment to Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.

Rotherham Diagnostic Centre's service manager, Care UK's Jo Hodgson, said: "Zoe has been with our team since we opened two year's ago and we consistently receive positive feedback highlighting the excellent level of care she gives to patients.

"She is also an extremely good motivator and has helped to build a very strong team of professionals."

Zoe said: "To be recognised nationally for my work is extremely rewarding. I am grateful to all the members of my team for their commitment and hard work, which enables us to continue to provide an excellent service to Rotherham patients."

The results of her team's efforts were also recently recognised recently when the centre was named Best Diagnostic Team of the Year by the Regional Radiographer Committee.

Since opening in March 2009 Rotherham Diagnostic Centre,in greasbrough Road, has been providing x-rays, ultrasound, echocardiography, DEXA (bone density) and MRI scanning facilities to NHS patients throughout the region.  The centre aims to provide the highest standard of patient care at all times and has cut waiting times in the region for diagnostic services substantially since opening its doors.
