Who is the mystery Lottery winner?

Speculation was rife this week that the lucky punter hailed from Rawmarsh, but lottery organisers Camelot said they could not say whether there was any truth in the gossip.

Shopkeepers at Kilnhurst Road, Rawmarsh, said that they had heard many names linked to the humungous win, including a family named Hitchens and someone called Ben.

Others had heard that the winner was a man in his 20s, while still others had heard that he or she lived on Willow Garth.

A Camelot spokeswoman confirmed that the bumper prize from last Tuesday’s draw had been claimed but said the winner had asked for no publicity, adding: “I have no information about the winner’s identity.

“We protect our winners and it’s very much up to them what they choose to do.”
