WHAT’S ON: Kimberworth Park

KIMBERWORTH PARK CLUB 50+: The club held its weekly meeting at the Kimberworth Park Hotel on Oaks Lane. The previous Tuesday a social evening was held at the Haynook Hotel. Members have been given free vouchers to attend the multi-purpose gym at the Chislett Centre. Contact Sheila Walker 01709 552543.

KIMBERWORTH PARK WALKING GROUP: On August 26, 26 members set off to complete a 3 mile walk around Scholes Coppice.

BARKERS PARK BOWLING CLUB: The club was away to Valley Park D on August 24 in the vets doubles league. Cliff Garnett and Jim Flannery won their games. On August 25, the club doubles competition was played. The competition was sponsored by St James’s Place Investments. Winners of the competition were Mary Poultney and Andy Swift. Runners-up were John Wood and Cliff Garnett. The trophies were presented by Gerard Murphy on behalf of St James’s Place Investments. On August 26 Barkers Park were at home to Valley Park B. Cherry Roberts and Mike Weaver and Chris Taylor and Steve Bellamy won their games and took the aggregate points. August 28’s evening doubles was an away match against Wickersley Village B. Wickersley took all the points.
