Weekender launches Xmas toy appeal

CHRISTMAS is just around the corner and here at the Weekender we are launching our annual appeal to help those less fortunate.

We are asking generous folk to donate a gift or toy which could be a CD, colouring items, board games or DVDs.

We will present the items to the team from Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice to give out to youngsters with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses.

Karen Mullins, office manager, said: “We are keen to do what we can to help all worthwhile causes, including Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, which helps families across South Yorkshire.

“We are really grateful to anyone that can spare a gift which will make a real difference to the lives of the children at the hospice this Christmas.

“We have been running the appeal for the last few years and it is always a great success. “Thank you to everyone who helped us to achieve this.”

Gifts must be wrapped and marked with a tag stating whether they are for a boy or girl and what age they are suitable for.

We then ask that you drop them off at the Weekender office, 84 High Street, Mexborough by Monday, December 16.
