WATH AND MANVERS: new recruit at college

A NEW member of staff at Dearne Valley College has been appointed to add creative flair to its marketing team.

Shaun Oliver (26), from Smithies, Barnsley, has been appointed as marketing and creative officer to support the development and implementation of the college’s marketing and customer relations strategy.

His role will be to work on a wide range of projects, including: designing promotional material, helping out with college  events such as open evenings and graduation ceremonies and updating social networking websites as well as media relations to promote the college. Shaun studied at Holgate Senior School, Barnsley, and in 2009 graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion with a marketing degree.

Shaun said: “This role will give me a great opportunity to develop my marketing skills as well as being able to work on creative projects in a fast moving and exciting environment".

Dearne Valley College is now accepting applications for courses starting September 2011.
