Wales High pupils celebrate success

He has set his sights on the UK’s best institutions, once he finishes his A-levels next year.

Hide Ad“I’m applying for Cambridge and Oxford,” he said. “I want to do physics at university so I’ve just got to keep on going, try the best I can and hit the ground running.”
Luke Cotter (17) of Worksop Road, Thorpe Salvin took AS exams in maths, biology, chemistry and sports studies — in which he too scored all As.
“I’m really pleased,” he said. “I worked very hard and did a lot of revision, but I’m very happy with the result.”
The star student would like to study medicine at university after completing his A-levels next year.

Hide AdHe added: “I think I will keep studying all of the subjects to start with, but I might drop maths later.”
Megan Wingfield (17) of Mill Haven, North Anston passed her business course with distinction.
“I’m planning to go to university to do business, but I’m not sure which university yet,” she said.
Rebecca Sheta (17) scored an A in psychology, B in sociology and C in philosophy and ethics. She hopes to study psychology at Sheffield University or Sheffield Hallam University.
“It was a lot harder than GCSE,” she said, “but I’m pleased with the results. It could have gone a lot worse.”
