VIDEO: Surprise homecoming for world champion cyclist Ben Swift

Girlfriend Lizi Hamshaw and her dad Alan organised the welcome party for the newly-crowned champ at their home Whiston.

Lizi (21) said: “He just loved the welcome home. There must have been about 60 people waiting for him and it just blew him away."

Ben (24) won three medals—a gold and two silvers—at the World Championships in Melbourne last week.

He said: “I kind of guessed that something was happening because Lizi was being quiet for a change.

“But it’s unbelievable. It looked busy when I was coming down the street. What a great turnout.”
