Two in hospital after house fire

Firefighters attended Ash View, where the blaze had started in a bedroom at about 6.20pm.

A man and a woman, both in their 20s, were taken to hospital for a precautionary check-up.

Fire crews were also called out to a flat fire at Dawson Avenue, Rawmarsh, at 10.45pm on Friday.

The blaze had been started when a microwave oven caught fire. No-one was injured.

A fire service spokesman confirmed both incidents had been accidental.
