Two in court after pig’s head left at Rotherham mosque

TWO teenagers have appeared in court charged with racially aggravated harassment after a pig’s head was dumped outside a Rotherham mosque.

Officers arrested the 16 and 17-year-old boys following the incident outside the mosque on Moorgate Road at around 10pm last Wednesday.

On Friday the pair, from Herringthorpe and Eastwood, appeared at Rotherham Magistrates Court and were charged with causing harassment.

Both were released on unconditional bail and will attend court to answer the charges against them on separate dates in September and October, respectively.

A police spokeswoman said that the incident was not connected with violent disorder in the nearby Broom Valley in the early hours of last Tuesday.
